Meet our Team
Walk through the doors of Uncle Bear’s Brewery, and you enter a lifetime of experiences told by an enthusiastic storyteller — founder Todd Carey. It’s a relaxing hangout where strangers become welcomed guests and where there’s a genuine affection for man’s best friend. Framed canine photos line the walls of beloved family pets of guests and team members alike, inspired by the brewery’s late namesake Bear, the Carey family’s cherished black lab mix.
A place where humble beginnings and a passion for connection are sparked, where everyone belongs and all become family, free to share in the story of Uncle Bear’s. Lasting relationships are nurtured over casual and tasty food paired with a namesake craft beer. The perfect recipe for acquaintances to become friends while dining with their pups on the patio. Over the years some things have remained the same. People, pooches and
a “Doggone Good Time” are genuinely valued, and generations of family
members are loyal to a business that has remained loyal to them. Like man’s
best friend, this loyalty knows no bounds.

Bear's Journey
Bear was a fun-loving, good ol’ boy, a cherished black lab mix, and man’s best friend to founders Todd and Liz Carey—also affectionally called “Uncle Bear” by the Carey’s three nieces. Back in the day, this playful pup could be found cruising the college campus of Texas Tech University, body surfing Doggie Beach in San Diego, skiing down snow-capped mountains in New Mexico, and relaxing in the Hot Springs of Arkansas before making his home in the Valley of the Sun.
Today, when you walk through the doors of Uncle Bear’s, you become part of our family’s story, a tale told best through the adventures of Bear and the lives of the canines whose photos line our walls. It’s a relaxing hangout surrounded by good people, great food, and our own locally brewed craft beer—the perfect recipe for acquaintances to become fast friends while dining with their pups on the patio. Uncle Bear’s has a place at the table for all walks of life, especially the four-legged, barking kind. So, "Come, Sit & Stay for a Doggone Good Time!"
